Finding metal with the simplest parts
This is a working metal detector that I built using only elementary electronic components. There are no ready-made modules doing the hard work, just simple parts on a small board, and it still picks up large metallic objects.
I housed it in a custom laser-cut shell that locks together with finger joints, with a clear lid so the circuit stays on display. The oval loop that carries the coil is laser cut too.
